Today’s Name Day is Göte, Göta. I have never heard of these names.
Thought for today:
In youth we learn; in age we understand.

Last nite a friend, Dan, who has a band sponsers a blue grass band scramble once year. Another friend Doug gave his huge barn to the bands to use. There were hundreds of people there. All the musicians draw numbers. All the number 1s are one band, the 2s are another, etc. Then they each perform & the crowd decided who is the best. It was lots of fun. And so many talented people!! I do not know many. I took photos that I will post a link to later. I will identify those I know. I am really late today with everything. Been too busy today.
‘And the Glory of the Lord’…………………….’For Unto Us a Child is Given’………………….’Glory to God’………………….’Hallelujah’ Those choruses are still floating in my mind & in my heart. The Messiah Festival chorus rehearsals started today. And for a first rehearsal, I thought we did very good. Had a good turnout, better than last year maybe. This is our 127th season. My mom sang for around 64 years, only missing a year or two during WWII. I have sang under 20 yrs. Look here to read the history of our chorus. http://www.bethanylb.edu/contentm/gen/bethany_college_generated_pages/History_m684.html. I took some photos, but will put them on later. Too late tonite.
One upsetting thing this afternoon. One of our gentleman singers insists on bringing his young son. And then ignores all this child does. He roams all over the auditorium. Today he was playing on this large set of chimes. I held my breath waiting for the worst. Luckily nothing chimed. He is in the balcony, then downstairs, then on the stage, then back down to sit, then up to run, then outside, the back in. It is most annoying & distracting. On our first rehearsal the college sets up coffee, juice, & cookies. This young child was out there eating cookies & more cookies & drinking. I hope his hands were somewhat clean & he did not touch too many cookies. Someone really needs to put a stop to this. Other children come to rehearsals, but they sit & disrupt no one.
Our weather was very warm today – 63F or 17C today, but with fairly strong winds. Then tonite they turned horribly strong —- dirt flying everywhere, sitting in a parked car that rocked to & fro, hearing branches or whatever hit our house loudly!!! Will be worse tomorrow. We are in a wind worning from 0600 to 1800. Nice day……not!!!
Willie knew I was tired tonite so he took me out to eat. John & I ate lunch today. A good day. I did not have to cook!!!
I saw Mom this afternoon. She now has decided she has a broken bone in her hip, or her leg, or her foot. That is why they will not let her stand & why her shoes do not fit. I just smiled. There are no broken bones. If it makes her feel more at peace, it is ok.
I bought Bill & Jenn their wedding gift tonite. Jenn’s pc quit working all together. Bill called me & wanted me to order her a new pc. As I am picking out options I told him this could be their wedding gift he they liked. She was going to use her tax refund so this way they will have extra money for the honeymoon or when they move up here. He is going to double check with her for sure but I am sure it will be ok. Then I ordered myself a new fax machine — one that scans & prints also. Will sell my printer & scanner & use this instead. Now the fax sits in the kitchen so it will be gone. Hope to sell it also. Will just be easier. Man, I spent money tonite like we had it!!! Bill is actually buying the fax machine since it is for his business.
Jo is fine today. She never found any more trash to chew on today. She has learned a new trick. If her dish is out of water or food, she bats it with her paw, scratches the floor, & barks. Her way of saying ‘FOOD. NOW.’ And tonite she pottied on the floor & then ran to the door. Ok, it was backwards, but maybe she is getting the idea. She rarely makes a mess since she has US trained quite well.
Gått för dagen. Kanske.
Be well, do good work, and keep in touch!
