We had thunderstorms last nite. Nothing severe here but in sousthern Kansas there were high winds & heavy rains & some flooding. We just had rain, about .75″. It was a bit muddy out today. And it stayed cloudy, rainy, & cold most of the day.
I went to Elly’s for coffee today. Four of us from the 5th row of the Messiah chorus met to fika (have coffee). He had strawberries on angel food cake with whipped cream. Very good. Then we walked through Ellys garden & she told of her plans for it this year. I have created a set for her garden on Flickr. I am going to stop & take photos there often. It is gorgeous!!
My stomach hurt sooo bad tonite. I think it is the diet Coke I am addicted to. It is so unhealthy I must stop drinking it. For every can you drink you need to drink 32 oz. of water to counteract how it dehydrates you. And if you don’t, it leeches calcium from your bones to rehydrate yourself. Not good!
I did some work at home for the Red Barn. There are some changes to the docent program that I needed to tell them about, the schedule for the next 3 months, & when our next meeting is. I found out that these ladies — whether all or just a few — do not like when I email them about meetings, etc. Huh??? I had no idea I was committing a mortal sin, but I guess I did. How stupid to have to pay for paper, envelopes, stamps instead of a simple email. Or when I have to call each of them. That is 9 phone calls. Expensive in time & money. I just hate that set-in-my-way & we-always-did-it-this-way attitude. Yet there are several who have yet to attend a docent meeting. And there is at least one who has a special request not to be scheduled on certain sundays. Well, if she cannot read an email, I cannot do favours. I list them in order & then it is up to them to trade if something comes up. I am sure you can sense my frustration. It is so hard to deal with all this. I try to do my best. I even created a blog for our docent group. I saw another gallery that had one. Not one of them will even look at it. It would be so easy for them to look there. Ha! It looks good for the board of directors, though.
