willie has had second thoughts. he has agreed to have a tornado shelter put in. Was it the daggers in my eyes or is he a mind reader???
We did have a storm. i packed up my laptop, insulin, cookies, cell phone, camera. before it all started i put it all in the cellar. i decided to just stay. it was not long before they had tornado warnings for lindsborg & falun.
the first surge was not too bad. some wind & tiny hail & rain. The second surge was worse. the winds really blew hard. willie kept saying it was not much, but i could hear. it really roared. chris heard a tornado touched down by marquette, just a few miles southwest of here. but there was no huge hail or heavy rains. hearing those winds i was just terrified. i held my head & sat there & cried. i could just see our house blow away.
jo refused to go into the cellar. she rode the storm out in the pickup. it is definitely not safe to be in a car during storms. you can die very fast if it picks the car up. happened just recently. if you have no place to go, find a deep ditch & lay flat in it.
in Wamego far west of here there was a circus in town. they now have 2 elephants on the loose!
The storm that came through here was moving at 97mph.97mph!!! i have never heard of a storm move that fast. never!! that is over 145 kilometers.
now we are in a thunderstorm warning again. and i hear thunder. i may be packing again. the line of storms that go way down into oklahoma moving our way. could be a long nite.

Thought for today:
I am not happy with the weather. It blew really hard at nite & then again today. Now we are in a severe storm watch. They have said this is a really serious storm that can produce a plethora of tornados that will be slow moving. There is rotation to the northwest of us. South of us is golf ball size hail with 70mph winds. And it all is moving slowly which means more damage. I am not yet panicky but almost. It might miss us, but there is more out west with tornados in it….headed our way. And I was just outside where the winds are a bit less & it feels much cooler. That is NOT a good thing. Very scary when that happens. NOW there is a tornado just near us. Although it won’t move this way, I now feel panic setting in. Why, oh why do we not have a shelter??? I just begged Willie for one & he is refusing. He thinks an old cellar with no doors is good enough. My feeling — bu–sh–.
I went to Salina with Chris & Chelsea. We ate at Carlos O’Kelly’s. Good food. Then they stayed here for a while. It is so nice to see them. Chelsea is starting CNA classes this week or next. Chris passed his a few weeks ago. (certified nurse aide) Chris is thinking of attending Butler College for his nursing degree. But that can change. He is still thinking.
Today is Denmarks National Day. My danish blood celebrates!!
More later is weather allows.
