Thought for today:
Today is Iceland’s National Day. The photo is of me, my friend & cousin Nancy, & her mother & my favourite aunt, Marth. Marth just passed away. It has been nice to see that California now allows gay & lesbian couples to marry. The first couple had been together for 50 yrs. How many right wing nuts who oppose gay marriage can say that. It is far better to people to be in stable, legal relationships that living a sexually promiscuous life. I wish my gay friends here had the same rights. It is sad. All people are equal & all are God’s children. They are as He intended. No rain yet today. Just a slight chance. Better chances tomorrow nite. It could wait a while. Harvest started in earnest in southern Kansas. We will probably start here next week. I have decided I am not going to Denver for my aunt’s funeral. There is nothing I can do for her now. And the only one who will actually miss me is her one daughter. The rest could care less. It is just hard for me to go places where it is so obvious I am alone. I hate doing that. I will go after harvest is over. I just have too many things to do, harvest is starting, & something inside me just says not to go. I was making myself sick worrying about going. I feel better now. Had an acupuncture treatment today. Had not had one in a month. I have done ok. Back in Lindsborg I saw Chris was at home so I stopped in. He was cleaning. I need to hire him!! He told me his father lost his job. I am so upset over that. It was not his fault. Chris had an interview at Bethany Home so he is changing jobs. Chelsea is taking her CNA class & is doing clinicals now at the home. For being so young, they both are very mature. Now have a docent meeting. It is a crapshoot as to how many actually show up. And maybe only one can actually write on a calendar when we have our meetings & when they work. I have to call them all every time. Like trying to nail jello to a tree. Gått för dagen. Kanske.
