Today was my Swedish group. We had no formal program. I just wanted people to talk about their memories & experiences at Midsommars. And I wanted to hear memories & experiences from those who were part of the Augustana Heritage gathering. It was a very nice meeting — we even went a bit late! Almost everyone there had something to say.
The president of our Swedish group returned for the first time. It was so nice to see them. She still struggles with expressing herself & her memory was not the best. But, boy, it was good to see her!!
As soon as I had the coffee all cleaned up I was off to Wichita to see my friend Chris who was in that severe car wreck. He is out of the hospital & now in rehab. He looked fantastic!!! To look at him you have no idea he was injured, but all his injuries are internal. He had a broken clavicle, many broken ribs, broken pelvis. His left arm is in a sling. He has a wheelchair but is starting to walk with a cane. He still has problems with fluid in his lungs. He is hoping to be discharged late next week. I am so relieved to see him & to see that he is going to be fine. No idea when he can work again.
Not much else today. It was hot, humid, & very very windy. Hard to drive. I hated it.
