The weather is back to normal. It is pretty hot & quite humid. I came to town around 11am. When I walked outside at 1245pm I almost passed out. It sure changed in a hurry. Where, oh where, is autumn???
I had lunch with John to celebrate his birthdya that was yesterday. We ate at the Swedish Crown. Good eats there!!!
I worked this afternoon. Our artist for the week & 2 of her friends were painting outside in the courtyard. Very cool. Really makes me long to be a ‘real’ artist. They finally gave up due to heat around 2pm. They lasted longer than I would have.
My Swedish club cannot meet this friday. A funeral is to be held in church at the same time & there is just no place else to go plus most of our members will be attending the funeral. So Elly & I divided up our members & we are calling them to let them know. And we have the programs all rearranged to accomodate a missed meeting.
My kittens did live in our shed but now they have relocated to our porch except for an occasional hunting trip with Mom. They are still skittish but they will learn we are not going to hurt them. When I think of them moving, I always hear the theme song to the old tv series ‘The Jeffersons’:
Well we’re movin’ on up!
To the east side!
To a dee-luxe apartment in the sky,
We’re movin’ on up!
To the east side!
We’ve finally got a piece of the pie.
Come to think of it, they did move to the east!!! And no pie, unless pizza counts!!
After I got home from work I walked into the house & it was miserably warm. The one day Willie decided to conserve energy it is one of the worst days outside. I am sure running the a/c constantly for the next 4 hours to cool the house down is more efficient than running occasionally all afternoon. I hate summers. I could say more but no need to get snarky about things.
Be well, do good work, keep in touch! |
