-Varmt välkommen hit-

My friend Elly and I signed up for a bus trip to a dinner theater in Overland Park Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. The name of the theatre is the New Theater Restaurant. There are options on their page to learn about the play that we saw and also about the theater. We left very early in the morning. I was up at 6am. It was painful!!

Here we are getting on the turnpike at Topeka KS. The other bus is ahead of us. Up to this point we had a breakfast of donuts and we had played Bingo. I never even came close to winning. One of our ladies had a birthday in March so she got to be ‘queen for the day’ and got to get off the bus first all day.

From Topeka on we started watching the dvd Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. We finished it on the way home since it is 3 hours long. It was sooo good. Great movie. And Hugh is certainly very easy on the eyes. I love the Aussie accent. Very cool.

The theatre had great sculptures everywhere. Here is one on a piano bench. The piano is a player piano and it was making music!

Here is a ceiling light with a sculpture under it. She is on the wall.

Here is a man and a park bench hanging on a wall.

Lady by piano guy.

Here is our view of the stage. The theatre holds over 600 people. We saw no empty seats.

We saw Hats! starring Joyce DeWitt. It was a musical comedy about Joyce’s character turning 50 and resisting it greatly. There were 6 other ladies in the cast. Joyce really had a very small part. The other ladies were awesome!!! We laughed, we agreed, I even cried. The hats were red hats from the Red Hat Society. You may remember Joyce from the tv show Three’s Company. We loved every minute!!
Our meal was a buffet. We were served a sallad first and I had raspberry ice tea to drink. On the buffet I took pasta, white roughy with sauce, pulled pork, fried chicken, roast beef, and a roll. There were also vegetables and potatoes I passed them up. Dessert was served during the intermission. I chose creme bruleé. All their choices were wonderful — cheesecakes, ice creams, cakes, etc.

Sculpture in front of the studio.

Our driver Ron. Very nice and did a good job. And our tour guide. She had a great personality and made the trip fun!

We arrived home at 7pm. This is our bus. I was exhausted and went to bed at 930pm and slept until 9am the next morning. A fun but tiring day.
