Got fairly chilly last nite. When I drove to the knitting café this morning around 930am, it was only 41F. I like it though. Now knitting today. Just talking. One of us has a family issue she needed to talk about.
Lunch was at Jalisco’s. Where else? Not only do they have the best Mexican food, the wait staff are the best. They are my friends and I enjoy their company. I almost always eat alone so it is nice to be where I get extra attention and some conversation. One of them has started sharing a can of juice with me — either mango or guava. Very tasty. And we have talked about things in my private life and so I almost always get a hug. Nice to have someone who cares about me and things I cannot change, but a hug always helps. Another waiter always keeps an eye on what I am looking at on my iPad. Today he was a page on FB of Mexican architecture, so I went there. He has so much fun looking at the photos and seeing where they are from.
Maybe a chance for showers tonite. I hope so. The first photo is from a couple of years ago. Just found it again and liked it.
Yesterday I spent time with some friends. They are the best. One I call “mi niño”. And it was his idea. He is such a special kid. So nice to be with friends who like being with me and we enjoy ourselves. Lots of laughs!! Good for all.
I had a fair day today. A work day. Had 5 people come in so I gave 2 tours. All nice folks. The artist this week and next is a friend of mine. Nice to see him in person instead of just on FaceBook!!
Weather is just perfect. Partly cloudy, pleasantly warm, light breeze, no rain. I even took some photos of flowers without being eaten alive by mosquitoes. I took photos in what I call the Meditation Garden and at Lan’s Garden. Lovely blooms.
Yesterday a friend asked if I wanted to join them at a concert tonite. For some dumb reason I said no. Then I really felt sorry for myself tonite. Well, he just texted me. No tickets left. I am sorry for them. It would have been fun!!
Another quiet nite in front of the tv. Not my choice. A little conversation would be nice but oh well. Not much else to write about.
I was tired. But last nite I slept for 11 hours. And then took a nap this afternoon. Woke up feeling pretty darned good. Finally.
Had some shopping to do for a meeting tonite so went to town late afternoon. And then, of course, I had to have supper. So I forced myself to eat at Jalisco’s. It is my second home. Besides the best food, I am friends with all who work there and nice to be some place where you get talked to once in a while. New waiter there tonite. He seemed sort of quiet but then I joked with him and he joked back. I think he will be ok. I hope he stays.
Had a Smoky Valley Historical Association meeting tonite. I am on the board of directors. And tonite I was one of the hostesses. Had a great program. And man from NOAA in Wichita. Interesting program about Kansas weather. Learned a lot. From Salina KS to Oklahoma City OK is one of 2 places in the world with the most severe storms. Nice. Not. The other is somewhere in Bangladesh. Has to do with dry air coming at us from the Rockie Mountains, moist air coming at us from the Gulf of Mexico, and the jet stream.
We had a bit of rain tonite and then on the way home it was foggy in places. Wonder if we have rain tomorrow?
