Time to play catch up. On friday the 24th there was a street dance in Lindsborg with a great band. It is really hard for me to go places like that alone. But a friend asked me to sit with her and her boyfriend. Very nice. AND. I even danced! Not with a guy but with other ladies. What fun! Nice to come out of my shell once in a while!
Sunday I ate with my cousins at Pizza Hut. Then my grandson came in who works there so I went with him to eat at Jalisco’s. What a nice afternoon.
Monday I dove in and cleaned out 4 drawers in the kitchen. Rearranged everything and ran what I did not toss through the dishwasher. Now to remember where things are!
Tuesday I had an app’t with my diabetes doctor. What a scatter brain I was all morning. Left my blood sugars at home. Then walked out without doing my lab work. I am a little upset over my doctor leaving the clinic. I will follow him when he find a new clinic. It sounded like he has something planned.
Ate at On The Border for lunch. I had the nicest waiter. And cute. He gave me lots of attention. And even took his break with me. We talked and talked. And he paid me several very nice compliments. THAT I am not used to and I enjoyed it. Always nice to be validated once in a while. I will certainly go back there and ask for him! He would make a nice friend.
Working extra this week. Instead of just saturday, there on thursday and friday also. Good days.
Friday nite I went to a birthday party for a friend who runs the McPherson Opera House. We had wine, champagne, and food. And watched clips of old rare out takes from movies thanks to another friend who works in the movie industry. Great fun. The opera house has a box seat on either side by the stage. They never use them but last nite *I* got to sit one. So cool. And had my photo taken doing my best royal wave!! Comes naturally to me since I am descended from Swedish royalty.
Working today. The weather is miserable. MISERABLE. Very hot and very humid. Better tomorrow. I hope.
Last nite was both good and bad. People that I thought were my supporters sort of turned on me. Really upset me. I should not even write here. I mostly keep things to myself. But on a good note, the sister-in-law of a good friend and the brother of my Honduran “son” both asked to be friends on FaceBook. New friends are always good.
Tonite is the open house of a newly built replica of an old old historic building here. I cannot wait to see it. What a gem!! Lots of controversy about it though. Too many want to see it fail. Sad.
